FAQ

  • Rates vary based on how many people and if we shoot at your location or my studio. If you need photos for your company or for yourself, please send an email to get a quote catered to your needs.

  • It means I direct you through the entire session. Notice in the eyes how every photo is saying something. A lot of photographers are technical wizards and take pretty pictures but if you look at the eyes, they are dead! I’ll direct you into every look you are trying to achieve. Sometimes we will improv and I’ll have you say things in character. You will get a ton of authentic looks with different “colors” where you’ll have more options than you even thought were possible.

  • When you arrive for your session, we will talk about the looks you are trying to achieve. I will help you go through wardrobe to select the best options for each look. If you opted for a makeup artist, he/she will begin on your makeup/hair. After you are made all purdy, we will start on your first look. As mentioned, I will direct you into each character. I don’t count how many shots we take, but I usually take around 100 per look. I always ask if you feel like we nailed it before we move on to the next look.

  • It depends on how many looks you get, but it’s usually 30 minutes per looks.

  • A look is a change in wardrobe or a change in hair/makeup.

  • If you aren’t sure, you may benefit from a branding/wardrobe consultation. We talk about the rolls you’d like to go out for and how you might be cast. Then we decide what wardrobe would best suit those looks. This is available as an Add-On when you book your session.

  • That’s a complicated question. If you have representation, that is a great conversation to have with them. If you are just starting out, I usually suggest two or three looks. One theatrical (TV & Film) one commercial and one that is unique to you. I am happy to have a phone or zoom consultation if you need help deciding.

  • It depends on how long you take to change your makeup/wardrobe in between looks. Usually males will get through 6-8 looks. Females will get through 4-6 looks. I’ve had females that do minimal makeup/hair changes and we’ve achieved 8 looks.

  • If you aren’t sure what to wear, I offer a 30 - 60 minute wardrobe and branding session. I suggest doing this at least one week before your session so you have time to go shopping before you shoot. This is available as an Add-On when you book your session.

  • I strongly recommend a MUA if it fits in your budget. She is amazing at helping you look your best. If it’s in the budget, then do it. If not, we can make the best with what we got! She has been in the industry for many years working on TV and film productions with more stars than I can count. Her style is very natural, but can also glam you up if that’s the looks you’re going for.

  • She is amazing with hair! She doesn’t do a full blowout, so we suggest you arrive with your hair how you normally wear it and she can help style it.

  • You are free to bring your own, however I request you arrive with your first look already done. I have had experiences where we are waiting for the MUA to show up and that burns into our time.

  • I don’t really count, but I usually take about 100 photos per look and you will end up with at least 50 usable images per look.

  • I have the images posted in an online gallery usually within 48 hours. If it is not possible I can let you know the day of the shoot. I don’t like to make people wait!

  • I always suggest retouching. It really makes a huge difference to help make your pictures stand out. I do very natural retouching to the point where unless someone saw the original photo, they wouldn’t guess it was photoshopped.

  • I charge $30 for a standard retouch. (Flyaway hairs, blemishes, skin smoothing, detailed color correction, eye whitening)

  • Depending on how busy it is and how many you order I should be able to have them done in less than a week, although 3 days is usually standard.

  • Both! I have multiple backgrounds for indoor, studio light and multiple locations for outdoor, natural light. We can discuss which you prefer before the shoot. If you don’t have a preference then I base it off of your wardrobe and what looks we are going for.

  • I’ll help you every step of the way! I promise to make it a fun experience. My strength is getting people comfortable in front of the camera. I will support you and direct you through the entire process. I strongly suggest a branding/wardrobe add-on if you’ve never had headshots done before.

  • I LOVE directing during a photo session. If I wasn’t directing you then I would just be pushing a button and that would be boring and I would feel like I’m not doing my job!

  • We meet (in person or over Zoom) to discuss the direction you would like your career to go. I’ll use my years of experience to guide you and help decide which looks you should get and give you ideas of what wardrobe you should wear. It takes approximately 30 minutes.

  • I use a Canon R5 or a Canon 5D Mark IV. My go-to lens is usually my 70-200 f2.8.

  • I do production stills, events, lifestyle, branding, family, real estate and weddings.
